Construction of the “Ursa-Lagoon Expansion” project to the Village’s wastewater system is financed by the IEPA Water Pollution Control Loan Program (WPCLP)State Revolving Fund (SRF).  The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  This project includes upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant through the addition of two aerated lagoon cells, an aerated rock filter, replacement of the lagoon pump station, and an effluent pump station.  These improvements are being made so we can continue to treat the Village’s wastewater and maintain the quality of the water discharged into Ursa Creek.  SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve their infrastructure.
